The Health and Safety Representative course equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform the duties of a designated Health and Safety Representative in the workplace.
Learners will gain an understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, hazard identification, risk assessment, incident reporting, and the promotion of a safe and healthy working environment. The course enables participants to actively contribute to preventing accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases while supporting compliance with legal and organisational safety requirements.
This course is suitable for employees appointed or nominated as Health and Safety Representatives, supervisors, team leaders, and individuals responsible for workplace safety monitoring.
This assessment is aligned to SAQA Unit Standard 242974: Operate Counter-Balanced Lift Truck | NQF Level 3 | Credits: 7, registered under Transport Education Training Authority (TETA).
The assessment evaluates the learner’s competence to safely operate a counter-balanced lift truck, conduct required inspections, handle and store freight correctly, and respond appropriately to workplace incidents and emergencies.
Successful completion of this assessment confirms that the learner meets the knowledge, practical skill, and workplace safety requirements prescribed by the unit standard and applicable legislation.
